My parents are trying to convince me to take their old grill rather than buy a new one, however, they havent touched theirs in at least 10-15 years. Its been sitting outside (but under a grill cover) for the entire time as well. is it really safe to stilll use, if you get a new propane tank for it??
Can you still use an old gas BBQ grill if it hasnt been touched for over 15 years?

Once your gasgrill's tank has reached a certain age then it is time to get a new one.Usually 12 years is enough time to have a gas propane tank in operation. If youfind that it is corroded, then do not attempt to mend it. Although the OPD and Check-Valve safetyfeatures are over a decade old, the law requiring these safety features is muchyounger. at some time in the pastfive years if you did not buy a new tank, the Liquid Propane filling stationyou use should have confiscated any non-compliant tanks. many of my clients find exchangeprograms convenient and swap their empty tank for a full tank at localstores. unfortunately, myexperience has been that quality control is not good at these locations. many customers have contacted usrequesting service only because their gas tank valve has a bad seal that stopsit from functioning. If youexchange your taks, test the new tanks as soon as you get home to find aproblem immediately

I bought a Broil Mate 4554 BBQ several years ago and it was using natural gas... now I'm moving to an apartment that doesn't have an outdoor natural gas pipe... so the hose that usually goes into the natural gas needs to go into a propane tank, but I don't know where to find one... any ideas?
How do I convert my natural gas BBQ to propane?
