What is the difference between a “DOT-39 NRC 228/286 M1003″ and a “DOT-39 NRC 232/290 M1110″ propane tank?

Calling all grillers and propane gas experts...
Like many on the 4th of July, I am grilling (on a new portable grill). The portable (non-reusable) propane tank I purchased has the "228/286" number, but the manual lists the "232/290" number. what is the difference?
I have looked online, but cannot find a clear answer. Does one produce a hotter flame due to releasing more gas? is one an older version? There are also two sizes: 14.1 oz tall size and a short and fat 16.4 size.
I will also mention I have a Charmglow table-top grill; the manual lists model number 820-0002. just bought at Home Depot.
