1273624702 Family Discussion » Tricks for Buying A Good Gas Grill

In this article I’m going to give you some straightforward Strategies for Finding a Good Gas Grill for your household, regardless of whether you want to purchase natural gas grills or other types of gas grills. Before making your choice, be first and foremost aware of that the grill consists of

- a hood or cover which is the top part of every bbq grill, keeping the warmth from getting away,

- the cookbox or the body of the bbq grill which features the major cooking or grilling system,

- a system for channeling and collecting grease located below the cookbox;

The major cooking system is made of three key elements:

- the heat dispersal system located below the cooking grates

- the burner tubes found at the bottom, delivering heat,

- the cooking grates where food is put.

Am I going to Find Substitution parts Just when I need them?

You may ask the salesperson if the grill you want to purchase is manufactured by the same company it is catagorized under. This is essential so that you wouldn’t have difficulties trying to find replacement parts when you might need them. be sure you get a grill that features a generous as well as simple guarantee.

Investigate the Lid

Many grill buyers are comfortable on opening as well as closing the cover when checking a propane gas grill they consider to purchase. Occasionally, it is presumed that when the cover is weighty, it is of great quality. in contrast to this perception, it is advisable to examine on the performance. Pick one with a weather proof, durable handle, offering both hands and arms a secure clearance.

Shake the grill construction

Well-built grills really feel steady and strong. I suggest you look for a grill that has a welded strong steel design. the wheels as well as casters should depend on the product standards, just as it has been made to tolerate extreme cold and also hot conditions. This implies that they do not easily break.

Check out where the grease passes

It is advisable to find a grill construction that is able to funnel drippings downwards and away from the burners in direction of a high-capacity, easy-to-reach and detachable capture skillet. by no means accept a gas grill that requires you to rig-up empty soup cans for drippings. Avoid shallow pans since they are likely to flood onto your terrace, outdoor patio or porch.

Investigate the grates

The very best grills hold separately welded stainless steel, porcelain-enameled steel or cast iron cooking grates. You should definitely avoid chrome- or nickel-plated steel because of their inclination to attract rust.

Raise up the grates and have a look at the inside

It is the cooking devices responsibility to minimize flare-ups and allow controlled along with even barbecuing. with full-sized grills, you’ll find two or more distinctly controlled burners which usually runs the cookboxs length. These should be equally spaced and produced from high quality stainless steel, standing up to the minimal water quantity present in natural gas and liquid gas.

I would suggest that you find out more about Weber natural gas grills product-line; you’ll probably discover a high-quality BBQ that suits your family needs and also your budget Additionally you can find out if you want to buy Char Broil Gas Grills, that hold a truly good quality also.

1273577890 Portable Charcoal Grills: Char Griller 5050 Duo Gas and Charcoal ...Ok, so this is for the grill, NOT the price. Amazon's price on this item is WAY too high but that isn't what the review is for... I got mine at a sporting goods store for under $250 so shop around.

This is a fantastic grill, it is really versitile.

Pros:
- Allows you to cook with charcoal, gas, or smoke (with the optional side firebox)
- the 3 burners on the gas side are close to the cooking surface which makes it really easy to control the cooking temperature.
- the side firebox somes with cooking grates for grilling 1-2 steaks

Cons:
- the grease pan is difficult to clean
- the ash tray can be cumbersome to remove
- it could really use some better wheels, this is a HEAVY grill if you have the firebox attached and moving it around is tough.
- No option for using natural gas as a fuel source

The Cons are all relatively minor in my opinion. This is a great grill, I'd buy another one for sure.

1273462689 Consumer Reports picks the best gas grills in time for the warm weather

Yonkers, NY — a Consumer Reports nationally representative survey found that more than half of Americans who grill are doing so more than once a week in season and according to the latest issue of Consumer Reports, Americans can purchase a great grill for $380 or less. the full report, which features 46 gas grill models and basic grilling tips, appears in the June issue of Consumer Reports and online at ConsumerReports.org.

There are eight recommended gas grills that shoppers can purchase for $380 or less, and six of those eight have been deemed CR Best Buys, including the medium-sized Char-Broil Commercial Series 463268008, $300 that offers even cooking for a good price. Looking to grill for a gang? the CR Best buy Brinkmann 810-1575-W (Walmart), $380, has five main burners, infrared rotisserie and costs less than most grills this size.

Consumer Reports tests also revealed a few duds. the Team Grill Patio Series Pro bears the colors of owners’ favorite sports teams, but tests found for a steep $800, cooking was uneven and mediocre overall. High price tag and futuristic looking Solaire AGBQ-27GIR, $1800, also cooked unevenly.

“There are so many grills to choose from and shoppers need to know which features to look for and which they may want to skip,” said Celia Kuperszmid Lehrman, deputy home editor at Consumer Report. “Most importantly they need to know to that a high price doesn’t always provide the best grilling experience.”

Five questions to help Sort through Manufacturers’ Claims

  1. Are more Btu better? No. Btu just indicates how much gas a grill can burn and the heat that it could generate. the grills with higher Btu weren’t at the top of the Ratings. the grill’s design, venting, and cooking-area size affect the Btu needed, but generally a smaller cooking area needs fewer Btu.
  2. What’s infrared? It is a way to transfer heat. Infrared technology uses heated surfaces to radiate intense heat to food, not the air, making it good for searing. Consumer Reports tests haven’t found that one method is superior or that infrared cooking is better than cooking on regular burners. the Consumer Reports survey revealed that 63 percent of people who had grills with infrared burners used them regularly.
  3. Which extras will I use? a gas gauge, extra storage, infrared burners, a natural-gas hookup and side burners were the most frequently used features in Consumer Reports’ survey.
  4. Any forgettable features? Griddle plates and rotisseries were used least often, according to Consumer Reports’ survey. Stainless steel requires frequent wipe-downs and polish to keep its shine. a porcelain-coated grill is durable and easier to maintain.
  5. Have some cooking tips? before and after cooking, clean both sides of the grates with a stiff wire brush; use a nylon brush on porcelain-coated and cast iron grates. do not use soap. Oil the grates before cooking by making a tight pad from two folded paper towels, dip it in vegetable oil, and drag it across the grates with tongs. Fully pre-heat the grill and keep the lid closed.

How to Choose

Shoppers should look for sales, coupons, rebates and look for stores that offer free assembly, which can save time and frustration. other tips include:

  • Size the grill. Match the cooking area to the number of people you usually feed. consider how much space is available on the deck or patio where the grill will be stored.
  • Consider flare-ups. usually the greater the space between the grates and the burners or flavorizer bars where the grease lands means less of a chance of sustained flare-ups.
  • Focus on safety. when shopping, check the grill’s sturdiness by nudging it at several points. Check for sharp edges and corners. Grip the handles to check how close your hand gets to the lid to make certain you’ll avoid burning yourself. Don’t toss the warranty card. each year the Consumer Product Safety Commission issues several grill recalls, so mail in the card or register online in case the manufacturer needs to contact you.

User ReviewsThis is the second Weber BBQ I've purchased. I haven't gone wrong with either of them. This unit lights instantly with one touch of the ignition button. its fully heated and ready to go within 7 or 8 minutes. Easy to assemble (power tool is helpful rather than using a screwdriver), and nice sleek looking design on the back patio. Puts a terrific char mark on your steaks or burgers, which is the way a steak should look. Quality all the way. -- This Weber is tops!Easy to assemble - sides fold down for storage. Of course, nice even heat, but you'd expect that from a brand-new grill. I did a lot of research before buying this grill, and I'm glad I chose it. -- Great grillTired of your old gas grill and still buying lava rocks? Are you a couple or family with a smaller deck/porch/balcony to cook on? look no further! the Weber Q 320 grill now resides on my back deck and it's nothing short of an awesome, fun cooking experience. When it's just hubby and me, I use (and clean) only 1 side of the grill surface because it's divided (love it!) . When we had family over, I grilled peppers, onions and meat in minutes. This thing cranks out the HEAT; cooking on medium with the cover closed has so far proven that sizzle doesn't mean "burn". This grill is sleek and stylish and easy to use. Absolutely the best grill I've ever owned. -- A cooking dynamo!I have had this grill for a little over a month now and have used it quite a bit. so far I've made steaks, burgers, a roast, brats, hot dogs and chicken. This is my first propane grill. I picked it based on the reviews that I read here on Amazon and because Weber has such a good reputation. here are some of my favorite things about the grill. the cooking grates are really heavy duty so food cooks evenly and the grates are easy to keep clean by using a wire brush. You can fit a lot of food on this grill. I love the push button starter (no fiddling around with a lighter or matches). its got 2 burners, so you can cook using either the direct or indirect method. There is a built in thermometer in the lid, which makes monitoring the cooking temp easier. I really like the fact that its got a pull out drip tray that takes a disposable aluminum foil drip pan making clean up easy. it seems sturdy and looks like it will last a long time. best of all - this grill makes BBQ fun and the food tastes great.

I was a little worried when I read some of the other reveiws that talked about difficulty with assembling the grill. Putting things together is not my strong point. if there is a way to mess it up - I will generally find it. This grill went together without a problem. I thought the instructions (mostly pictures) were easy to understand. it took a couple of hours - but everything went together without a hitch. Several of the other reviews also talked about broken legs on the stand. I did not experience any broken or missing parts. I thought it was very well packed - with a lot of protective padding.

Here are a couple of minor negatives - In addition to turning off the burners you have to remember to turn off the valve on the propane tank. I'm not used to a propane grill, so I have to remind myself to do this. I think this would be true of any propane grill. There is no gauge for the propane tank, so you can't tell how much propane you have left. I think some of other grills come with a gauge - which would be handy to have.

Overalll, I am very happy with the grill and would recommend it. -- I'm in BBQ Heaven!!

After kicking myself about not ordering a Weber Q320 grill from Amazon during the winter, YESTERDAY (now 3 or 4 days ago), I went to Amazon.com and located the item and it iINCLUDED FREE SUPER SAVING SHIPPING. I was concerned because the product description lacked info it used to state about Q 320. i.e., that the gas hose, heating rack, light, cooking guide were included.
I decided to check to see if I could pick one up near my home for about the same price. although Home Depot and Lowes show them on line while individual stores do not stock them (but ship free) with a price $10 more than Amazon.
So I decide to go back to amazon and order, BUT what do I find? - a more or less incomprehensible notice that the item is on hold with a pie in the sky wording related to giving the world's best service."
So I tried again the next day. Guess what? It's back in the listings and through the same seller at the same $349. price BUT NO SUPER SAVING SHIPPING AND a COST OF $44.+ to ship.
I told Amazon how disappointed I was that super saving eligibility has been removed after always having been there. I swear it had been there I'd bet for years. I told Amazon that I guess that if the economy improves a bit the bean counters get greedy. I've been recommending Amazon to folks, but I think those days are over. In a lengthy reply they said super saving only applies to items shipped by Amazon itself. That wasn't the policy several days or months ago. I reccommend finding free shipping elsewhere. as of today Amazon has a new seller and the price of the Q 320 is now $397. plus shipping. if I were shopping Amazon now I'd look elsewhere. -- Product Q 320 great - Amazon no longer is place to buyRelated Products
