What are good place to go around Chicago with barbeque grills availalbe for your own use?
Pittsburgh Barbecue Company, otherwise known as "that place on Banksville...," was just voted best Barbecue in Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh Magazine's "Best of the Burgh" contest. I love BBQ so of course I had to see if Pittsburgh Magazine was lying to me. I think they might have been.
I got a half a rack of ribs, baked beans and cole slaw. the baked beans were on target and full of great smokey flavor. they also used at least 3 different types of beans. the cole slaw also had a good combination of vinegar and sweetness. But the ribs let me down. although I've never had authentic BBQ to compare, something was just off. they had a nice bark on the outside and the BBQ sauce had a nice tang to it but the rack I got was full of fat, gristle and cartilage. Based on this visit, I'd have to revoke your Best of win, Pittsburgh Barbecue Company.
