Even the word itself is kind of controversial: is it barbecue, barbeque, bar-b-q, or BBQ? just don’t bring it up with a purist (or the one cooking your burger!)

We're launching a barbecue blog soon, and one goal is to have a recipe section. sure, we're interested in how you cook your pork, but we'll have expert advice on that, too. What we really want are good recipes for sides. our family favorites for sides are Barbi's baked beans (really, I've never tasted any that compare and I will get a photo and a recipe for you when the new blog is up), my mom's potato salad, and coleslaw.

We want recipes for all those, plus rubs and sauces. I'd give anything to duplicate my grandfather's barbecue sauce, but he never wrote it down and I can never get quite the same thing.
