Actually, this is nothing at all like a Stump's Smoker. Except the "Box"
shape. maybe you are thinking of a Backwoods?
I have cooked on all three of the brands, owned a Backwoods, and currently
own 3 Stump's Smokers, 2 of the vertical boxes, and the Tailgater. Stump's
doesn't use a water pan in the vertical smokers, Backwoods does.
I didn't like the light weight of the Onyx, I thought that it was very
flimsy, but the one that I used was a prototype, and in real life, if
Shotgun Fred and BBQ Bob Trudnuck are backing it, the Onyx must certainly be
a very good product.
