We picked this up from Costco recently and are about to return it.

I tried preheating it forever it seemed, but it just would not get hot enough to properly grill our steaks while camping. two separate meals, both times it did not come anywhere near our ideal of seared on the outside and pink on the inside.

Just for kicks I also took a stab at using it to griddle some pancakes and again... it just did not get hot enough.

I just ordered a Weber Q 220 instead. It may cost twice as much, but at least it should work for its intended purpose.

In its favor, it was very easy to clean and provided a good amount of grill area and I like the latches to keep it closed for transportation.

I suspect the box needs a better design to keep the heat in and focus it onto the grill.

SILVER SPRING, Md., (WUSA) -- "We're smoking some ribs."

Marcus Yates knows a thing or two about grilling.

"Some people like charcoal, some people like propane," he says.

Tony Sloan says his wife prefers that he use charcoal when he cooks on the grill.

Camarillo: lest we Forget is the theme of the 45th annual ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, 2052 Howard Road. the event will feature a Commemorative Air Force flyover of three World War II planes, a Veterans’ Avenue of the Flags, local veterans’ groups and a speech by U.S. Navy Chief Michael Blaauw. the Gold Coast Pipe Band will provide live music, and the presentation of the colors will be conducted by the U.S. Naval Base Ventura County Ceremonial Color Guard. Fillmore: Local Marine and Vietnam War veteran Dick Diaz will speak during an 11 a.m. event at Bardsdale Cemetery, 1698 S. Sespe St. the ceremony will include a flag ceremony led by Boy Scouts, a wreath placement, music, remarks by the Rev. Bob Hammond of Dayspring Anglican Church and the playing of taps. No vehicle traffic will be allowed at the cemetery from 11 a.m. to noon. 524-3877.

Moorpark: At 8 a.m., American Legion Post 502 and Boy Scout Troop 604 will replace flags that have been flying since Veterans Day at the Veterans’ Memorial Triangle, Los Angeles and Moorpark avenues. an observance will follow at 10 a.m. at the Moorpark Veterans’ Memorial, at Spring Road and Flinn Avenue. Activities will include a speech by Matt Valenzuela, a Marine who served in Vietnam; a wreath ceremony featuring a recitation of the World War I poem “In Flanders Field” by the American Legion Auxiliary; a reading of names on the memorial; and the playing of taps. 523-3355; moorparkpost502.org.

Oak View: Honoring our Veterans, in War and Peace is the theme of the community’s annual celebration. it will begin with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at American Legion Post 686, 475 old Ventura Ave. the Oak View Memorial Day Parade will start at 9:45 a.m. near New Hope Christian Center, 590 old Ventura Ave., concluding with a brief service and an awards ceremony. New Hope will host a free concert and barbecue at 11:15 a.m. oakviewca.org.

Ojai: the city’s Memorial Day observance will begin with a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the American Legion, 843 E. Ojai Ave. (free for veterans and $4 for others). At noon, Ojai Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11461 will sponsor a patriotic program at Libbey Park downtown featuring the Ojai Big Band, patriotic songs, displays and a wall of remembrance. Speakers are the son of Holocaust survivor Charles Pierce; Korean War veteran Dave Pressey; Vietnam War veteran Fabio Allodoli; and two soldiers who have served in Iraq. 646-0076.

Oxnard: A service, speaker and luncheon program will begin at 10 a.m. at American Legion Post 48, 2639 Wagon Wheel Road. the speakers are U.S. Navy Mobile Construction Battalion Commanding Officer Patrick Garin and American Legion Post 48 Commander Steve Weber. Memorial Day to be marked in county

I'm working with a high-rise condo developer who is looking for verbiage to put into their homeowner's rules & regulations regarding gas grills. the building is 32 stories high and the grill would have to withstand winds up to 80 MPH. Sounds crazy but personally, I wouldn't put a grill on a high balcony unless it is permanently mounted!! would portable grills withstand these wind gusts? Crazy question but I'm wasting my afternoon researching this!! Thanks in advance!

What type of BBQ grill works well on a high-rise balcony?

If so, is it a good brand? Good quality? I am looking to buy the Stainless split- lid gas grill (55,750 BTU) and am wondering who else has this grill and thinks its a good buy? Also, will Lowe's give me a discount if I ask for one (without a coupon?)
